Scholarships
Irene M. Thompson Scholarship.
This award is for a SBS junior or senior undergraduate student with
outstanding academic achievement. Selection takes place in the spring.
For more information, talk to the head of the department that houses
your major.
SBS Scholarships
SBS Scholars are recipients of scholarships from the College of
Social & Behavioral
Sciences at the University of Northern Iowa. These scholarships are awarded
on the basis of academic merit to entering freshmen who expect
to major in one of the degree programs of the CSBS. Awards are
given in amounts up to $6,000 per year. More information...
Alderman Scholars Program
The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences is happy to be the
recipient of one of the largest gifts in the history of the University!
The $3.6-million gift was given to the college by Everett Alderman
in memory of his parents and wife. This generous endowment will provide
assistance to "needy, worthy, and appreciative students" within
the CSBS. The program is open to entering freshmen, current undergraduates,
and undergraduates transferring to the University of Northern Iowa. Awards are given in amounts up to $6,000 per year. More information...
Undergraduate Research Award
The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences provides funds for
undergraduate research. Students may be awarded up to $750 per
year to conduct research or to attend conferences. Application deadlines for the 2008-2009 academic year are Sept. 26 and Dec. 5, 2008, and Jan. 30 and March 27, 2009.

Study Abroad Funding
Students majoring in CSBS programs are eligible to apply for funding in order to study abroad. More information...
